What is the Retail Motor industry Federation?

The RMIF (Retail Motor industry Federation) was established to represent the interests of UK businesses operating in the motor trade.

From producing and regulating guidelines to providing impartial advice- the RMIF's ultimate aim is for the motor industry as a whole to thrive and prosper.

What does the RMIF do?

Broadly the RMIF have the following aims and objectives as listed on their website:

1. To support and represent the interests of the companies operating within the sector
2. To create conditions for the industry to prosper
3. To establish a sound infrastructure for those buying and operating cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles
4. To raise standards throughout the industry through quality control schemes and lifetime learning training programmes.
5. To represent the views of industry to Parliament, Government and the European Union
6. To match environmental aspirations with successful economic and industrial
competitiveness goals
7. To raise the profile of the federated associations through positive public relations strategies
8. To promote ecological improvements in the automotive industry
How does this apply to number plates?

The RMIF incorporated the CNDA (cherished numbers dealers association) which is a governing body for the UK number plate market.
